Birding in Newberry Country provides some of the best year-round birding in the Central Oregon Region. From Lakeview to Sunriver opportunities exist to observe birds close and afar. The Christmas Valley, Ft. Rock, Summer Lake and Paisley areas are known for their wintering raptors. Rough-legged Hawks, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles and Red-tailed Hawks concentrate in these areas from November through March. Paisley is a great place to observe migrating Sandhill Cranes in March and early April.
