August 19th (Thursday)

Candidate Forum...In the spirit of community partnership, the Chamber, CAG, and other community citizens have partnered together to present a series of public forums for all registered candidates for election to the La Pine City council in November 2010.  

The first of these candidate forums will be held at the La Pine Senior center on Thursday,  August 19, from  6pm - 7:30pm.   The Forum will be a moderated format with each candidate being given the opportunity to provide opening/closing statements.  All interested businesses, and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend and participate in the forum.  If you would like to submit a question for the upcoming candidate forum, please send it to Mike Jensen at info@jensenone.com

August 20th (Friday)

La Pine Chamber Breakfast... 7:45 am to 9:15 am.  Speaker will be Rick Evans, Executive Director of Organization for Economic Initiatives, a private non-profit corporation contributing to business success and economic development activities in Oregon.  The sponsor is MidstateMidstate Electric.

La Pine Grange Flea Market (& trading post)...Held the first Saturday EVERY MONTH (year round) from 10 till 3 (and held over to include Friday during community events, holidays and by popular demand). Come experience the origin of "networking". Shop in a wholesome family environment for new/used items, collectable's, antiques, FRESH EGGS, one of a kind crafts and ART.  From 10 till 3...Vendor fees are the most affordable in Central Oregon. The venue is open YEAR ROUND and expands to include the outdoor shopping space as the weather permits. 4th La Pine Sportsman Jamboree Gun, Knife, Coin & Collectible Show...at the La Pine Senior Activity Center, 9:00am - 5:00pm on Saturday, 9:00am - 3:00pm on Sunday.  Admission is $5.00 or $4.00 with trade gun, Children 12 and under admitted free with an adult.  Great home cooked food available for purchase.  Call for exhibit9or information and reservations 541-536-6237.

La Pine Grange Open House/Pot Luck Dinner...Come on down to the Grange Hall on Morson (1 block north of the Prairie House) and enjoy an evening of GREAT FOOD, GREAT CONVERSATION. You can learn more about the folks that are in the Grange. Potluck starts at 6pm (the business meeting starts at 7pm).  For more information about Grange call Dot at 541-536-2197

Truckers Light Parade & Christmas Craft Bazaar...Lighted vehicles of all sizes sparkle their way through downtown La Pine in a holiday atmosphere.  Hundreds of Hand-made crafts, Christmas Caroling and Lighting of the Christmas Tree.
